Lighting & Electrical

This week our electrical, appliances and light fixtures were put in. We have our Dishwasher and Microwave installed, all of our electrical outlets are in (there are a ton!) and our light switches as well. We also have our bathroom mirrors installed, the rest of our plumbing fixtures and the tack strips for carptet are in. They also installed the control box for the sprinkler system.

We are getting extremely close to being done and are more excited than ever. We visited the house yesterday afternoon and went again at night so we could see it with all of our light fixtures on (sad, I know).

Plumbing, Railing and More!

Today we were met with more surprises. We now have our railing on the front porch installed! It makes it look so finished. We are glad it's finally up. Hopefully we'll get the house painted this week now that it's up.

Now for the inside, we now have our dishwasher installed and some other plumbing fixtures including our faucets, shower heads/handles, toilets and our pedestal sink on the main floor. The construction door was removed and our permanent door was installed. They have added all of the spindles for our curved stair rail inside as well.

Grout, Stain & Door Hardware

Today our grout work was finished as you can see by the fireplace photo. Now, all tile work is completed. In addition, we are on phase 2 of the stain work for our wood floors. Don't they look awesome?!?!?! We also got most of our door hardware installed. And as an added bonus, our Master Shower door was installed! Things are really coming together quickly. We can't wait to get back out to the house tomorrow to see what else has happened!

Insulation, Grout and Stain

We have yet another day of work done on the house and some more transformations have occurred. We now have our basement insulated! While we won't be finishing it off right away, we do plan on using this space quickly so the insulation will help until we can get it done.

On top of that, the grout work for our tile flooring was done today, the tile surround for the fireplace was finished and they sanded and stained our wood floors! They look awesome and we can't wait until they finish.

Tile/Vinyl Progress

The tile/vinyl work continues at the house today. As you can see below we have tile work started/continuing on the fireplace hearth and master bathroom. In addition, they have installed our vinyl flooring in the mud room, laundry room and hallway bathroom. On top of all that, our counters for our mud room and laundry room are in, towel racks are installed and it looks like they are getting ready to install our light fixtures. This has been so exiting, we can't wait to move in (almost bought a sleeping bag and camped out there a few nights).

Backsplash, Flooring & More

This afternoon I went out to the house to find a nice surprise. The backsplash in the kitchen had been applied. No grout yet, but looks nice. (Pictures might be dark as I used my blackberry since I didn't have our camera.)

The master bathroom flooring was mostly installed. Still some more tile to lay down, but looks really good so far.

And, finally the expanded patio we wanted was poured. Some curviness in our patio looks great and it feels super large now. Great space for entertaining we think.

Vinyl and tile flooring should be completed this week as well as tile around master bathtub and all countertops. Yippeeee! Painted exterior should also happen this week, so more pics to come.

Granite

Well, it was yet another weekend that went by way to fast but here we are again, back at the house (I don't think we've missed a day yet). Yesterday we stopped by the house after work to find that all of our granite countertops and our kitchen sink had been installed!!! It looks great and it's just one step closer to us being able to move in. We love the amount of counterspace we have now and look forward to spending quite a bit of time in our new kitchen.
