The house is moving along quickly. On Friday, we had our electrical and cabinetry walk-through determining where we wanted cable, phone and electrical outlets throughout the house. We also met with the cabinetry specialist to verify the design of our cabinets and where we wanted them. By the end of the day on Friday, all of the electrical outlet boxes were in place as well as the lighting fixture boxes. No lights yet, but all is in place for their install. More pictures to come this week as they finish the electrical wiring, plumbing, siding and possibly the roof!

Day 38: I Love The Smell Of Progress In The Morning
Ok Ok, so it wasn't morning when we took these. Anyways, yesterday we visited our house and were met with yet another long day with tremendous results. We can now actually go into our basement. They have built the steps and framed under our stairway to the basement. They also completed the bathroom rough-in and sump pit. We have duct-work running all over the house (not done yet though) and almost all of the plumbing rough-ins are complete.
The siding is nearly complete (~90%) and should (hopefully) be done Thursday or Friday. Aside from framing and plumbing work, they have also installed our new FIREPLACE!!!

Week 6 (Day 36): Siding and More!

Week 6: So Much Progress in So Little Time!!
Today we stopped out over lunch to find multiple contractors working on our home. The framers were finishing the roof decking and framework on our front porch, the siders were installing siding on our house, and our cemember working had been there already to pour our garage floor. We couldn't get too close to see if our basement floor was poured, but we'll find out soon enough. The roofers were also working on installing the roof tar-based **thingy** (don't know the official name) to prepare for the shingles to be installed. Oh... and our air duct parts are laying inside the front doorway, so we think that's coming next. Moving along quickly now.

Week 5 End (Sat): Roofing and Windows
This morning our windows were installed and the remainder of our roof decking was put on. Only one section above the garage needs decking and we're complete with that project. Next week: Roof install and basement flooring should be poured. Also, siding on house should be installed as it's sitting on our lot on a trailer. Yippee!!
Week 5 (Day 32): Roof Framing

More Progress
This morning it was rainy, but cleared up by 9am. From 9-noon, they were already back on-site working their tails off on our framework. Second story framing is half way done and our view is spectacular from our upper level. We are very much looking forward to spending 4th of July at our new house looking out over West Omaha enjoying the Gretna, Elkorn and West Omaha fireworks. :)
Week 5 (Day 28): Progress
The 2nd story is on its way. By June 12th we had our 2nd story floor completed and now they are working on the framing piece. Few framing needs on main level, but looks great!

Week 4 (Day 22): Framing Partially Complete
Today has been rainy, but Dustin and I decided to visit our site anyway and what a surprise when we found the framework partially up. Whooo hooo! Progress in any weather is fantastic! We're hoping to defeat mother nature this week and have beautiful, sunny weather for the next few days to get the framework done and possibly the roof. :)

Week 4: We Have a Floor
The basement support beams and main level subfloor were installed today. We finally have wood attached to our house. It rained all weekend, so lots of mud around the site including the basement floors which are a soppin' mess. They need to dry out before they can pour the basement floor which will probably be done after the drain tile is installed later on.
Dustin and I also picked out our granite today and we're still working on deciding our exterior paint colors. There are way too many varieties of beige out there!!!

Week 3 (Day 18): Wall Forms Removed
Thursday, June 4, 2009
Week 3: Basement Walls
We have walls!!! On Wednesday the walls of our home were poured. Dustin and I got to watch them work in the afternoon on pouring the cement into the forms followed by several other crew members who were packing the cement and popping air bubbles in the cement. It was a sight to see and reality has finally hit for both of us... our house is on the way! Next step: Removing the forms and waterproofing the walls.
